F1 races set to be 5% shorter in 2027

Formula 1 teams have unanimously voted to reduce the Grand Prix race distance by 5% starting in 2027. This shorter distance pairs with the planned Power Unit improvements to give the cars more power across the span of the race.

FIA announce ADUO results following first and second review periods of 2026

ADUO stands for Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities. This is mechanism within the 2026 Formula 1 technical regulations which allows Power Unit manufacturers whose Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) performance falls at least 2% below the highest performing ICE on the grid. If a team falls to at least 2% behind they are allowed to introduce additional homologated upgrades to the Power Unit during the season and will also benefit from an additional cost cap and dyno testing allowances heading into 2027.  The level of ADUO other teams are allowed is calculated over three periods across the season and the level of allowance is determined by the size of the performance gap to the best performing ICE.

Isack Hadjar to miss the Dutch Grand Prix

Reports have been pouring in all morning that Isack Hadjar looks set to miss the Dutch Grand Prix due to a wrist injury. I had not wrote about it as there had been no official statements from the teams involved, however in the past 15 minutes both Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls have released statements.
