Italian driver Matteo De Palo, who qualified in 2nd place for the Italian feature race in Monza, has been disqualified due to a technical infringement.
His car was referred to the Stewards by the FIA Technical Delegate after they found that the diffuser on his Trident was below the required minimum height as instructed in Article 3.4.1a of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Technical Regulations.
The official report is that it measures 3mm lower than the stipulated height laid out in the regulations on the left hand side.
The Stewards received the report from the Technical Delegate and have heard from a Trident team representative. They have decided that there is no justifiable reason for the diffuser to be below the minimum stipulated height as a result.
Car 6 has therefore been disqualified, which is the usual penalty for a technical infringement.
This is a blow to the Italian driver as he was meant to be starting on the front row at his home Grand Prix, lining up alongside his teammate Freddie Slater. The top five on the grid for the feature race will now consist of Slater, Lacorte, Le, Rivera and Kato.
