INDYCAR: Mick Schumacher to join Meyer Shank Racing in 2027

Mick Schumacher signs for Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) for the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series season.

Mick Schumacher is to finish his rookie season this weekend with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

MSR have confirmed Schumacher will pilot the teams #66 entry alongside Marcus Armstrong in the #60 car. Furthermore, the announcement has confirmed that Mick’s main sponsor ENVE Composites will join him at his new team.

Schumacher will be leaving Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at the end of this season. Part of this is likely due to the fact that the team will be downsizing from three entries to two in the coming season.

Schumacher has said that “I’m super excited to be working with everyone at Meyer Shank Racing and really excited to be joining such an ambitious team, it’s going to be a special journey to start working with MSR. I am looking forward to what more I can learn from the team. They’ve had some really great success, and of course, going to an Indy 500-winning team is awesome.

“It will be great to start meeting everyone on the team and working with MSR’s partners. I’m really just excited to begin working toward 2027 together and really start thinking about how we can create a great partnership together.”

Schumacher is just about to finish his rookie IndyCar season. He has earned one top ten finish this year, an eighth place finish at Nashville Superspeedway back in July. He has had a tough season at times and has been plagued by inconsistency, however he has adapted to the series well and has been especially good on oval tracks considering he has never done that  style of racing in his career before.

He career up to this point consists of two seasons in Formula one at Haas before moving to the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with Alpine for two seasons. This means he is bringing a strong set of racing skills to MSR to replace Rosenqvist.

He will make his debut with the team at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 7th, 2027.
